Sept 21. — 12 pm Remembering those damaged by gun violence, we’ll be making Soul Boxes for individuals killed (including suicides), injured physically or mentally, who’ve lost a loved one, or who’ve been traumatized by the increase in gun violence in our culture. All materials and folding directions will be provided at this FREE workshop. You’ll decorate your box for a person you want to remember. Boxes for the dead will be displayed on the Cleveland School Remembers altar at the Mexican Heritage Center during October. ALL boxes will be displayed at various Stockton events to raise awareness of the costs of gun violence to our community.

The San Joaquin Soul Box Project is brought to you by Cleveland School Remember’s Draw It Out Program. You’re invited to join us to make a Soul Box in remembrance of a victim of gun violence.  We’ll share stories of these victims — whether killed, injured physically or emotionally, lost a loved one, or traumatized by the culture of fear created by so much recent gun violence.  Bring your stories.  All materials will be provided.  Soul Boxes will then be displayed at local events to remind the community of the scope of damage done by gun violence.
